Visibility - Cascaded by Epic / Sprint

Task visibility can be controlled at the Epic or Sprint level. Restrictions set on an Epic or Sprint cascade automatically to all tasks linked to them.

How it works

You don't need to set visibility on each task individually. When you restrict access on an Epic or Sprint, all attached tasks inherit those restrictions. If a task belongs to both an Epic and a Sprint, it combines the restriction lists from both.

To set visibility on an Epic

Step 1: Open and edit the Epic

  1. Go to TasksEpics

  2. Open the Epic your task belongs to

  3. Click Edit

Step 2: Manage Epic Visibility

  1. In the edit dialog, find the Visibility section

  2. Click Manage Epic Visibility

  3. Select the users or groups who should not have access

  4. Click Update Epic Restrictions

To set visibility on a Sprint

Step 1: Open and edit the Sprint

  1. Go to TasksSprints

  2. Open the Sprint your task belongs to

  3. Click Edit

Step 2: Manage Sprint Visibility

  1. In the edit dialog, find the Visibility section

  2. Click Manage Sprint Visibility

  3. Select the users or groups who should not have access

  4. Click Update Sprint Restrictions

  • Tasks linked to the Epic or Sprint inherit restrictions automatically — no need to configure each task individually

  • If a task belongs to both an Epic and a Sprint, it inherits the combined restrictions from both

  • Changes to Epic or Sprint visibility apply to all linked tasks immediately
